Every woman dreams of having a pretty nose, but nature hasn’t blessed everyone with perfect features. Many women have a bump on their nose, which is caused by the unique structure of their bone and cartilage tissue. This can be either a congenital or an acquired feature, which is why women often wonder how to remove a bump on the nose and whether it’s possible to do so once and for all.

There are several ways to remove a bump from the nose:

  • surgical method (rhinoplasty);
  • a non-surgical method.

There are various opinions on whether a bump on the nose can be removed through massage or breathing exercises, but in practice, these methods are not effective because they cannot alter the structure of bone or even cartilage tissue.

Is it possible to remove a bump on the nose without surgery?

Most patients are afraid of surgery and prefer less invasive methods, so they want to know if it’s possible to remove a bump on the nose without surgery. In addition, many patients have a number of contraindications to the general anesthesia required for surgery.

Modern aesthetic cosmetology makes it possible to remove a bump without surgery using hyaluronic acid- or collagen-based dermal fillers.

The essence of this method is that the product is injected under the skin, where it fills in the unevenness. This allows you to remove the bump and achieve the nose of your dreams. The advantage of this method is that there is no recovery period. The procedure takes about 20 minutes and is performed under local anesthesia.

But there is a drawback: the filler is gradually absorbed by the body and disappears completely after 12–18 months, along with the effect. Therefore, to remove a bump on the nose without surgery, the procedure must be repeated periodically.

This method of nose correction can be used if there are no problems with the internal nasal septum, since it has only an aesthetic effect and does not address the underlying issue. If the bump is very noticeable, it can be difficult to remove it completely without surgery, as a large amount of filler would make the nose too large and disrupt the symmetry of the face.

Rhinoplasty – Removal of a bump on the nose

The most effective way to correct this is through rhinoplasty; the bump disappears permanently after this procedure.

Rhinoplasty — the surgical removal of the nasal hump under general anesthesia. If a patient has a deviated nasal septum that causes breathing problems, a procedure to straighten the nasal structure is performed in conjunction with rhinoplasty. As a result, the patient’s nasal deformity is corrected and normal breathing function is fully restored.

Before undergoing rhinoplasty to remove a bump on the nose, the patient comes in for a consultation with the surgeon, during which they discuss and plan the upcoming changes. To provide a visual representation of the expected outcome, the patient is shown a computer simulation of the results the rhinoplasty is intended to achieve. The bump is removed surgically within 1–2 hours; sometimes, additional surgery on the tip of the nose is required to achieve the desired aesthetic result.

Once the rhinoplasty is complete and the nasal hump has been successfully removed, the new position of the nasal bone and cartilage is stabilized with a plaster cast.

Surgical removal of the nasal hump completely and permanently resolves both aesthetic and functional issues, but requires a fairly lengthy recovery period. Swelling and difficulty breathing may persist for the first few months. During this time, you must take special care to protect your nose from physical trauma. After six months to a year, the nose heals completely and takes on its new shape.
