Hyperhidrosis is a disorder of sweating in which a person suffers from excessive sweating. Most often, the condition is caused by high temperatures or stressful situations. In addition, sweating may also increase as a result of certain medical conditions.

Hyperhidrosis itself isn’t life-threatening, but it can certainly cause problems. It’s very unpleasant when your hands and feet sweat excessively; this physical trait often gets in the way of social interactions and can negatively impact your career and relationships.

What are the signs of hyperhidrosis of the feet and palms? The following symptoms indicate this condition:

  • redness of the legs and arms;
  • moist marks that appear on the paper when it is picked up or stepped on (for example, during a diagnostic test);
  • It is difficult for a person to hold writing utensils and slippery objects.

If you have sweaty hands or have noticed excessive sweating of the feet, don’t delay treatment—this condition can be effectively treated at the BGLAB Center for Aesthetic Medicine. To reduce or completely cure excessive sweating of the palms and feet, the center uses Botox and Dysport injections.

The procedure is now more affordable—treatment for any area costs 9,500 UAH instead of the usual 13,000 UAH. As a result, the procedure is not only quick and painless, but also affordable.

Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) of the palms and feet: causes

What can cause excessive sweating of the hands and feet? Palmar hyperhidrosis and plantar hyperhidrosis can be caused by various factors:

  • There are more sweat glands on the hands and feet. Consequently, more sweat is produced. If this is the cause of excessive sweating in the feet, treatment is necessary. Modern medicine and cosmetology can help resolve this condition.
  • Disorders of the nervous system. Since the function of the sweat glands is regulated by the autonomic nervous system, any disruption in its functioning leads to excessive sweating. In such cases, when treating excessive sweating of the feet, treatment should begin with restoring balance to the nervous and mental states.
  • Disorders of the endocrine system. This is often the cause of excessive sweating in the feet. In this case, a comprehensive approach is needed to address the problem. A full medical examination and specific tests are necessary. Particular attention should be paid to sweating during pregnancy, during menopause (in both women and men), and in the presence of diseases of the thyroid, pancreas, and other endocrine glands.

  • Infectious diseases.
  • Poor diet and unhealthy habits.
  • Taking medication.
  • Genetic characteristics.

Excessive sweating of the hands and feet: treatment options

Today, excessive sweating of the hands and feet can be treated using several methods:

  • Treatment of foot hyperhidrosis with iontophoresis—in this procedure, an electric current containing an ionizing substance is applied to the hands and feet.
  • The BGLAB Aesthetic Medicine Center offers Botox and Dysport injections. These treatments block nerve endings and regulate the activity of the sweat glands. Excessive sweating of the hands and feet subsides within a few days, and the effects last for over a year.

If you have chosen Botox treatment to treat excessive sweating of the feet, keep in mind that immediately after the procedure, you should avoid overheating, saunas, and tanning beds.

Generalized or localized hyperhidrosis is not a death sentence. If a person experiences sweating in the armpits, palms, or excessive sweating of the feet, treatment should be combined with a healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet, and a calm, balanced state of mind.
